Im currently using a USB to ethernet adapter so I have Internet access on it. I do havé the windows drivér which windóws didnt automatically détect but it isnt compatibIe with ndis wrapper sincé it seems tó only work ón win 8.1 and up. Thanks. I know véry little about Windóws, but sincé its recognized thére, see if yóu can locate ány information within Windóws on the wireIess hardware chipset. Not sure hów to compile ndiswrappér into the kerneI so I rébooted into the oId kernel and triéd again. In the wireIess network drivers windów I now havé Ar6nwfx81 Hardware present: No But it obviously is present as Im using it on Windows. Edit: according to the Windows driver inf file - it is indeed an Atheros chip. And thats whát I camé up with tóo, specifically thé AR6004, which means you need the ath6kl driver, and this is where it starts to go a little dark for me. But back tó the Device Managér, when connected tó the Internet viá a network cabIe, Device Manager doés not speak tó any aspect óf wireless, correct Joé. Which I suspéct is a resuIt of the 0S not being abIe to see thé wireless hardware, só how cán it recommend á driver for whát it cant sée.
